Daily Devotional from Pastor Mary 06-17-26

We continue our study with the Book of Judges by summarizing Chapter 3. We are following a six-week Bible Study by Katie M. Reid entitled, “God, What Do I do?” This study is based on the Book of Judges, Chapters 1-5, and we are digging into what these lessons teach us about making wise decisions in uncertain times.

Truth: This last week, we decided to ‘endure’ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the armor of God.

Answer the following questions to help summarize what you learned during this week of study. If possible, use biblical references to back up your responses.

What weapon of warfare will you utilize today [God’s Word, prayer, worship, Jesus’ name, your testimony, fasting, thanksgiving?]

How does the Bible define ‘endurance’ based on the Scriptures you read this week?

How did Othniel, Ehud, and Shamgar demonstrate endurance, as recorded in Judges?

What is one example of Jesus demonstrating endurance during His time on earth?

Based on what you discovered in Lessons 1-5, how can the decision to endure help you make wise decisions in uncertain times?

For tonight’s Bible Study we will focus on Judges 4:1-5. Now that we understand what it means to endure as we follow Christ throughout this life, it’s time to dig into Judges 4. This week of study will focus on the account of Deborah and Barak and how they worked together to lead God’s people during a tumultuous time. You will discover that the decision to faithfully rise to your God-given position and follow His lead is what is needed to navigate the difficulties of life with wisdom.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for teaching us about endurance and the importance of it to the development of our Christlike character. As we embark into chapter 4, we pray and ask You to help us rise up! In Jesus’ name.
