Proverbs 3:13-18 New Living Translation (NLT)
Wouldn’t it be amazing if everything we needed in life could be gain by connecting with the wisdom and generosity of one Source? Here is a symbolic image I want to share that best reveals my thinking: a Tree of Life to which we are invited to approach and pick the fruit of Wisdom for supply whenever we needed it. Charles Haddon Spurgeon defined wisdom as the “right use or action of knowledge.” We wouldn’t need to blindly hunt around, steal from others, or go without, we could just go to the one Source, connect, and gain the necessary wisdom for meeting our greatest needs in life. This Tree would be a Source of all other connections. As all of humanity connected at the Tree we would take care of one another with the patterned provision provided by the Source. Everyone loving, working, and serving together under the Tree of Life.
Proverbs 3:13-18
13
Joyful is the person who finds wisdom,
the one who gains understanding.
14
For wisdom is more profitable than silver,
and her wages are better than gold.
15
Wisdom is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.
16
She offers you long life in her right hand,
and riches and honor in her left.
17
She will guide you down delightful paths;
all her ways are satisfying.
18
Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
happy are those who hold her tightly.
As altruistic as many people would like to view it, the government is not the Tree of abundant life, wisdom, or generosity; to think so is idolatry (putting something else as the source before the living God). It is actually the job of our government to provide a protective environment which guides its people to exalt the true Source. That way every individual can grow, flourish, and soar in Wisdom while connecting to the Tree…the Source of Life, Liberty, and Happiness (Joy)-unalienable rights given to all human beings by their Creator. One Nation Under God–the Tree of Life.
Prayer: Father, thank You for being my Source for Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness–Joy. You are all I need and I look to You for Wisdom to live each day. Jesus, thank You for hanging on the tree, forgiving my rotten fruit and being the fruit of righteousness, so I may partake of the Father’s wisdom and generosity. Help me, Holy Spirit, to keep focused on my true Source. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
