2 Corinthians 1:3-11 New Living Translation (NLT)
Life is full of opportunities to share our stories with others. We may share our life lessons of success or we may share our life lessons of loss and failure. Every lesson is important. But, did you know when we suffer or face troubles, God comes to comfort us? Scripture tells us God comes to shower us with his comfort. What a shower of blessing! And here’s an important lesson to be gained about God’s comfort. He brings it so we will turn and share our lessons of comfort with others. People around us may be hurting; let’s share the comfort through Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:3-11 God Offers Comfort to All
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. 6 Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. 7 We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.
Prayer: Lord, you have taught me many lessons and I am sure I have many, many more to learn. I offer my heart for examination and my mind for renewal. Help me to make sure I share the lessons of your love and comfort with others so they will reach out for you, too. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
