Luke 4:16-21 New Living Translation (NLT)
Jesus—wisdom incarnate—understood his Spirit-driven purpose to bring Good News. Do you know every day your purpose is to share the Good News with others in your sphere of influence? It’s true. The Spirit of Christ—who lives in you—wants to continue his purpose of connecting with the spiritually poor; bringing sight, relief, and freedom to the spiritually blind, wounded and oppressed, because God’s favor and wisdom awaits those who will turn to him. Jesus, the Light of the World, wants to shine a Light of Truth through you for the sake of others to give their life purpose, too. Favor comes to those who live with purpose!
Luke 4:16-30
16 When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. 17 The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
19
and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
20 He rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant, and sat down. All eyes in the synagogue looked at him intently. 21 Then he began to speak to them. “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!”
Prayer: Lord, thank you for pouring your favor over me and offering me the privilege of continuing the proclamation of your Good News. May others receive this Good News through me, as well as all your children, for your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
