Hebrews 10:26-31 Good News Translation
The truth of God’s love has been made know through the Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God. The same love and power that forgives our sin through the righteous blood of Jesus is the same love and power that delivers and helps us grow beyond any sin that tries to keep us enslaved. If we resist the grace that tries to separate us from sin, then we are opposing God. We must offer ourselves as living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God; we must chose to follow Christ into a deeper level of freedom. Scripture teaches if we will judge ourselves, we will not be judge by God. So, evaluate your heart and invite God to continue to pour his grace into your life so you can go into the future with “Thanks Living.”
26 For there is no longer any sacrifice that will take away sins if we purposely go on sinning after the truth has been made known to us. 27 Instead, all that is left is to wait in fear for the coming Judgment and the fierce fire which will destroy those who oppose God! 28 Anyone who disobeys the Law of Moses is put to death without any mercy when judged guilty from the evidence of two or more witnesses. 29 What, then, of those who despise the Son of God? who treat as a cheap thing the blood of God’s covenant which purified them from sin? who insult the Spirit of grace? Just think how much worse is the punishment they will deserve! 30 For we know who said, “I will take revenge, I will repay”; and who also said, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving me a glimpse through your Word of the reality of heaven and the power you make available to me; I hunger for that which abides with you more than the things this temporal world offers. Give me the grace and motivate me for Thanks Living. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
