9 I continue to pray for your love to grow and increase beyond measure, bringing you into the rich revelation of spiritual insight in all things [experience; walking out the truth that insight reveals].
10 This will enable you to choose [discern] the most excellent way of all [choose those things that can bring contentment]—becoming pure and without offense until the unveiling of Christ [his appearing and the day of judgment] 11 And you will be filled completely with the fruits of righteousness that are found in Jesus, the Anointed One—bringing great praise and glory to God!
The Apostle Paul prays for the Philippians to be filled with God’s love, because this is what unifies believers. We do not love other believers based on feelings; we love because Christ first loved us, sacrificed his life for us, and commands us to love one another. The renewing of our minds comes as we allow Christ’s love to connect our hearts and minds. We need this work of renewal, because our souls—mind, will, emotions—are tempted to follow the world, but our heart—spirit—wants to obey Christ. Let Christ connect your heart and mind in his love, so you can experience the rich revelation of his insight as you walk out the Truth.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for walking out the truth with me each day, so I may produce the fruit of righteousness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
