Daily Devotional from Pastor Mary 5-4-20

Psalm 100 (TPT) Praise God
A poetic song for thanksgiving

Lift up a great shout of joy to the Lord!
Go ahead and do it—everyone, everywhere!

As you serve him, be glad and worship him.
Sing your way into his presence with joy!

And realize what this really means—
we have the privilege of worshiping the Lord our God.
For he is our Creator and we belong to him.
We are the people of his pleasure.[the sheep of his pasture]

You can pass through his open gates with the password of praise.
Come right into his presence with thanksgiving.
Come bring your thank offering to him
and affectionately bless his beautiful name!

For the Lord is always good and ready to receive you.
He’s so loving that it will amaze you—
so kind that it will astound you!
And he is famous for his faithfulness toward all.
Everyone knows our God can be trusted,
for he keeps his promises to every generation!

Yesterday, in our worship time, the Word of God made the Good Shepherd—who never abandons us—alive to us. In our devotional and prayer time today, let us begin to thank the Lord for being our Gate; he opens our spiritual eyes and understanding so we connect with the Father. We must let go of an earthbound perspective and reach for the Kingdom reality. Thank the Lord for being the Shepherd who goes ahead and leads us along righteous paths; he protects us in our coming and going. Thank the Lord for being the Pasture we long for—the life of meaning and fulfillment, because we were created to be loved by him. When we open ourselves up to God, he fills us with HIMSELF! Talk about Abundance!!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for opening eternal life up to me and guiding me by the Spirit each day. Continue to help me understand how my spiritual life and natural life cross in your grace and position me for your glory. I choose life in abundance; pressed down, shaken together, and running over. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
