1 Corinthians 1:18-31 The Message (MSG)

On this amazing Monday morning, isn’t it great to be on the way of salvation?  Doesn’t hope in God’s love for you make every day exciting?  We are following the Savior into new territory each day.  We can share about the love of Jesus for the world and the salvation that is offered every seeking heart.  Salvation calls us to invite the Spirit to bring change and renewal to our souls.  Are you daily inviting God into every area of your life?

Listening to the Word being taught is wisdom that opens the eyes of the spiritually blind and teaches the spiritually hungry how to please God.  When we gather for worship, it is not for entertainment purposes; sadly, that would be making worship about us.  Rather, worship is filled with expressions in the Spirit  as each of us exalts God.  Worship leads us into thriving and life-filled opportunities beyond our gatherings; to help us grow in our love and trust of God.  Take a minute today and think about how God has connected you to abundant opportunities.

1 Corinthians 1:18-21

18-21 The Message that points to Christ on the Cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation it makes perfect sense. This is the way God works, and most powerfully as it turns out. It’s written,

I’ll turn conventional wisdom on its head,

I’ll expose so-called experts as crackpots.

So where can you find someone truly wise, truly educated, truly intelligent in this day and age? Hasn’t God exposed it all as pretentious nonsense? Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in his wisdom took delight in using what the world considered dumb—preaching, of all things!—to bring those who trust him into the way of salvation.

Prayer:  Lord, thank you for the work of your Spirit who leads me into authentic worship times.  Thank you for the Word that teaches me how to live in a way that pleases you.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.
