Psalm 6:2 New Living Translation (NLT)
Watching someone we love battle physical pain can be extremely difficult. In those moments, we often find ourselves wanting to fix what our loved one is going through. Attempting to “fix” anything in our own strength will only cause us to become physically, emotionally, mentally, and/or spiritually weakened. Instead, we need to call on the Lord in prayer so He can bring His wisdom, guidance, and the fruits of His Spirit to sustain everyone during the battle. Psalm 34:17-18 reminds us that “The LORD hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
Psalm 6:2
2 Have compassion on me, LORD, for I am weak.
Heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for your Word that speaks absolute Truth. Your timing is perfect, and you knew just the right verse I needed to close out last week and start anew this week. I lay my burdens at your feet, Lord; and I ask for your forgiveness since I did not fully give my troubles to you last week. I carried a portion of worry with me for the physical battles loved ones are currently enduring. I give those battles completely to you because worry is not from you, but from the enemy. I pray for healing, your strength, your wisdom, and for your peace and love to be witnessed through the words spoken and actions taken by all. I thank you, as I know that you are and will continue to hold everyone. In your Holy Name, Jesus. Amen!
