“If I wanted to boast, I would be no fool in doing so, because I would be telling the truth. But I won’t do it, because I don’t want anyone to give me credit beyond what they can see in my life or hear in my message, even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So, to keep me from being proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.” 2 Corinthians 6-12
The Apostle Paul knew all about issues and problems; yet, God trusted and empowered him to write a great portion of the New Testament. Many Christians feel if they face intense problems, it is because God is displeased with them. Punishment must be the reason; that’s a human perspective.
Our Scripture, today, says that Satan is the one who sent the problem to torment the Apostle Paul and keep him humbly seeing from God’s perspective. That’s not punishment; that is promotion! God allowed Satan’s process so Paul would have a clearer perspective of the potential within him to overcome any weakness in Christ. Have you faced trying problems, lately? Then, you are in great company with other Christ followers. If we believe God has a good plan for each of our lives, then what do you suppose the problems we face are supposed to reveal to us? Take time, today, to get with God and ask the Spirit to reveal God’s horizon for you in Christ!
Life can only be enjoyed as one acquires a true perspective of life and death and of the real purpose of life. Spiros Zodhiates
