1 Corinthians 2:10-16

There is a great deal I do not know or understand about life. Sometimes I sit back and just shake my head until it rattles.  However, because of Scripture, I know some of the most important things that affect the foundation of my understanding; I am grateful for that wisdom. I know I am loved by a holy and amazing Father.  He is my Creator and Source of life.  He desires only good things for me; He delights in blessing me.  Everything I have just shared about myself, is also true about you. God loves you and has a great plan for your life. This plan is something God desires to do in you in order to help others around you.  You hold the message someone else needs to hear.

In order to experience all God has for us, we must surrender to the work of the Spirit, because our “unspiritual self” cannot understand divine Wisdom.  Humanity gets lost in the maze of the mind and struggles to understand spiritual things.  Scriptures teaches we actually have “no capacity” to receive the things of the Spirit (1 Cor 2:14).  However, Jesus set the “no capacity—no room in the Inn thing” on its heels and made a way for us to be spiritually alive. Now, we have access to all God is doing in us; wisdom makes all the difference in the world. Dive deep into the depths of God and live His plan.

1 Corinthians 2:10-16

10-13 The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along. Who ever knows what you’re thinking and planning except you yourself? The same with God—except that he not only knows what he’s thinking, but he lets us in on it. God offers a full report on the gifts of life and salvation that he is giving us. We don’t have to rely on the world’s guesses and opinions. We didn’t learn this by reading books or going to school; we learned it from God, who taught us person-to-person through Jesus, and we’re passing it on to you in the same firsthand, personal way.

14-16 The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can’t receive the gifts of God’s Spirit. There’s no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit—God’s Spirit and our spirits in open communion. Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God’s Spirit is doing, and can’t be judged by unspiritual critics. Isaiah’s question, “Is there anyone around who knows God’s Spirit, anyone who knows what he is doing?” has been answered: Christ knows, and we have Christ’s Spirit.

Prayer:  Lord, I hunger for the deep things of your heart for my life.  So, take my heart and continue to mold and fashion it for you plan and purpose.  Even though the world may want to live at a shallow level of understanding, I do not.  I crave your Wisdom.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
