Daniel 7:13-14  New Living Translation (NLT)

In many, many passages in the Old Testament, we will find the prophetic description of the Lord; Yeshua HaMashiach or Jesus the Messiah.  In the Old Testament, YHWH (Yahweh) told His people He would send Mashiach to rescue them, set things right again (a result of sin), and destroy evil.  Daniel dreamed about Messiah (translates the Anointed or the Christ) and how he would rule a spiritual kingdom that was eternal and supremely powerful.  During the time in which Yeshua lived on earth, kings were anointed with oil but in our reading we see Yeshua was anointed with God’s authority.  Messiah would be greater than any earthly ruler and all of creation would be called to obey and bow to his authority.

Daniel 7:13-14

13 As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.

Jesus referred to himself as the Son of Man (translates Ben Ha’adam) in the gospels.  He did so to connect to Daniel’s prophecy and bring recognition to himself as Messiah.   Yeshua HaMashiach entered through the clouds from heaven the first time as the Sacrifice; to offer himself as an atoning sacrifice for sin to anyone who chooses to obey him.  He will enter through the clouds from heaven a second time as the Righteous Ruler and King; to set up of his kingdom on earth.  Here are those passages:

Matthew 24:30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven.  And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.”

Luke 21:27 “Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory.”

The Apostle John had a vision of the heavenly order and wrote about HaMashiach.

Revelation 1:7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all peoples on earth will mourn because of him.”

Jesus Christ is not just a man, prophet, or priest.  He is the incarnate Lord of Love and Creation who desires to connect as the Ruler of every willing heart.  Please connect to Christ by inviting him to rule your heart in His Love.  One day he will split the sky by appearing on the clouds, again, but this next time he will descend as the eternal King of all Creation.

Prayer:  Father, thank You for sending Yeshua HaMashiach so I may live connected to Your Love.  I desire for my life to be ruled by Love and Grace.  Keep my heart ready for Your second coming.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.
