Psalm 107:1-3, 23-32

Today is a Fantastic Friday; we are loved and valued by a liberating God so we should rejoice!

Throughout Scripture, God is the Deliverer of His people; he liberates and saves us from our spiritual enemies: The world, our human flesh, and Satan.  The human exalting world has not willingly placed itself under God’s authority, so it will reject the Word and we will feel the spiritual battle outwardly if we choose to pursue life in Christ.  Our spirits have been redeemed in Christ, but our flesh (which prefers sin) must learn how to live under God’s authority; we will feel the spiritual battle on the inside as the Spirit calls us to surrender to God’s holy will for our lives.  Lastly, Satan and his demons are on a mission to defeat those who have accepted God’s salvation in Christ; his purpose is to hinder the growth of our faith by causing us to quit and give up our quest for the truth; we will feel the spiritual battle waged against our minds.

The world, our flesh, and Satan all desire for us to live as if this life is all that matters.  But God has delivered us from the power of all of these things, so we may live for his eternal purpose.  You are more than a conqueror in Christ; stay the course and hold onto your joy!

Psalm 107:1-3 Living Bible (TLB)

1 Say thank you to the Lord for being so good, for always being so loving and kind. 2 Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has saved you from your enemies.

3 He brought the exiles back from the farthest corners of the earth.

23 And then there are the sailors sailing the seven seas, plying the trade routes of the world. 24 They, too, observe the power of God in action. 25 He calls to the storm winds; the waves rise high. 26 Their ships are tossed to the heavens and sink again to the depths; the sailors cringe in terror. 27 They reel and stagger like drunkards and are at their wit’s end. 28 Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and he saves them. 29 He calms the storm and stills the waves. 30 What a blessing is that stillness as he brings them safely into harbor! 31 Oh, that these men would praise the Lord for his loving-kindness and for all of his wonderful deeds! 32 Let them praise him publicly before the congregation and before the leaders of the nation.

Prayer:  Lord, thank you for always being loving and kind; you are an amazing Savior!  I have observed your power in action in my life.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
